HS Recruiting Visits


High School Visits
 
If you are interested in visiting High Schools in your area as a representative from Maritime College:
  1. Review the list of targeted High Schools which you can download by clicking HERE. Targeted High Schools are stored in a Micrsoft Excel spreadsheet:

    Please review this list and select the High School(s) you wish to visit.

  2. If you are interested in visiting High Schools in your area as a representative from Maritime College:

    Please review this list and select the High School(s) you wish to visit.

    1. Contact the High Schools in your area that you would like to visit and ask to speak with the College Advisor/Guidance Counselor.
    2. Arrange a date and time with the Advisor/Counselor for your visit, allowing at least 10 days for the Admissions Office to forward recruiting materials to you.
    3. E-mail the Admissions Office at aantonescu@sunymaritime.edu with the following information:
    Alumnus Name
    Alumnus Class
    Alumnus Mailing Address
    Alumnus Telephone Number
    Alumnus E-mail address
    High School(s) to Visit
    High School(s) Address
    Date and Time of your appointment(s)
    (Please provide the name, address and appointment information for each High School you will visit)
    4. Upon receipt of this e-mail, the Admissions Office will send you recruiting materials for your visit.
    5. After the visit, please complete the High School Visit Evaluation Form included in your recruiting package. This should be returned along with any inquiry cards collected from interested students. This information should be mailed promptly to the SUNY Maritime College Admissions Office at 6 Pennyfield Avenue, Throggs Neck, NY 10465 or faxed to 718-409-7465.

    Inquiry Posters

    If you are interested in disseminating Inquiry Posters, please follow these instructions:
    1. Please e-mail the Admissions Office at aantonescu@sunymaritime.edu with the number of posters you would like to receive as well as your name, class year and mailing address.
    2. Please post materials around your community: Local High Schools, Libraries, Yacht Clubs, Police Stations, Firehouses, etc.
    3. After you have disseminated the Posters, email the Admissions Office with the locations where the information was posted.

    Student Referrals

    If you know of any prospective students who would like to be on our mailing list, please e-mail aantonescu@sunymaritime.edu the following information:
    Student's Name
    Student's Address
    Student's Telephone Number
    Student's email
    Referred by: Alumnus Name and Alumnus Class Year

    Upon receipt of this information, the Admissions Office will mail the prospective student information about Maritime College and enter them into the admissions database.
