 ur first stop on the tour is Tode Hall, one wing of the Marvin Tode Science and Engineering Building. Tode Hall is the home of our acclaimed Engineering Department.
Our dedicated Engineering Department faculty will educate you in marine, facilities, electrical, and mechanical engineering, as well as naval architecture. As with every study area at Maritime, these programs combine the academic and practical aspects of the engineering disciplines. Class sizes are small, so you get a lot of personal attention. Cadets that complete the Summer Sea Terms and graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering degree qualify for a U.S. Coast Guard license. This license not only validates your accomplishments to yourself and industry - it expands your employment opportunities after graduation. |

You may also choose to join a non-license program and complete a Bachelor of Science degree. Naval Architecture students can choose between an intern option, a Third Mate's License, or a Third Assistant Engineer's License. Intern options are required for the Facilities, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering programs. The Intern option consists of one Summer Sea Term aboard the Training Ship and two meaningful work periods in relevant industry environments.
