Letter From AA President to Selected Alumni Invited To Tour College Facilities
The Alumni Association has recently learned that the Maritime College Administration invited
selected alumni to attend a reception at the College, during which tours of new and improved
facilities were given, along with an update on the state of the College by Vice Admiral Ryan.
Association President Francis X. Gallo sent a letter to those invited alumni after the event
to brief them on some facts that Vice Admiral Ryan may have omitted from his presentation.

AA's Proposed Contract and Guidelines
On August 30, 2004, Association President Francis X. Gallo sent
SUNY Senior Associate Vice Chancellor for State Relations Michael
Trunzo a letter to which were attached the Association's revisions
to SUNY's proposed contract and guidelines. The revisions
represent a good-faith effort that will hopefully allow all parties
to move forward cooperatively, in hopes of executing a contract that
takes into account the interests of SUNY, of the Maritime College,
of its alumni and those of its predecessor institutions, and
-- most importantly-- of current and future cadets.

have more impact.

if you make it happen. DO IT RIGHT NOW.
On Friday, January 30th, SUNY informed the Alumni Association that they would have to
move off campus by Monday, February 2nd. You can read the letter here:

You may find this letter insulting. Please be sure to voice any criticism
intelligently and without the use of profanities so as not to give SUNY any
support for the argument that we are a bunch of uncouth rabble.
On Saturday, January 31st, a group of volunteers that included AA Director Eileen Femenia, several
graduates (Jose Femenia, Ted Mason and Joe Tartaglia), a couple of dedicated cadets (names withheld
to protect the innocent) and some good friends took on the task of renting a truck and moving
out of the office. This was a very sad day for the college and for the Alumni
Association. It was a truly pathetic day for SUNY.
The move was completed in true Domer fashion, quickly and efficiently. It would not
have been accomplished so promptly if it were not for the practical, hands-on experience
and the can-do attitude of the workers - something we all learned at the Maritime College
when we participated in the regiment/license/degree programs, programs the AA will
continue to support.
